Have your say on future design of Manor Royal

Crawley Borough Council is developing a design guide to help make Manor Royal a more attractive prospect for businesses and is asking members of the public for their opinions.

The Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) will mainly be used when new developments are proposed and will set design guidelines covering landscaping, scale and mass and the outside appearance of buildings on ‘gateway’ sites.

Cllr Claire Denman, Cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “We want to work with the business community to reinforce Manor Royal’s role as the leading sub-regional employment destination. Its location is fantastic with excellent road, rail and airport links and it already houses a wide range of businesses from ‘blue chip’ to small engineering firms.

“But it does need smartening up to keep drawing in the business and jobs and we want to make sure we’re playing our part by asking people who use it what they think.”

To view the document log on to www.crawley.gov.uk/manorroyal or visit the town hall or library. The deadline for comments is February 14.
