Housing staff receive excellence award

STAFF in Crawley Borough Council’s housing needs service are celebrating after being awarded the Customer Service Excellence standard.

The standard, which replaced the old Charter Mark scheme three years ago, tests the areas of a service most important to customers.

There is a particular focus on delivery, timeliness, information, professionalism and the attitude of staff. The standard also places emphasis on how an organisation gathers information about its customers and the experience they have when they use the service.

Diana Maughan, head of strategic housing and planning, said: “Everyone has worked so hard to improve the different services we offer. We’ve analysed data, looked at processes and tightened budgets but we’ve never forgotten that the service is about people not just figures.”
