Lions have specs appeal

Have your say

Crawley Lions have collected some 2,000 pairs of used spectacles since January to be passed on to people with sight problems in the Third World.

In June alone, 497 pairs were collected from around the town. The collections were part of an ongoing project which saw glasses sorted by prisoners in Durham Prison before being sent to the Chichester Lions Club for shipping. Pictured are Pat and David Carpenter alongside Crawley Lions president Mark Jones.
