A man has been arrested following a sexual assault which took place on a bus travelling between Caterham and Crawley.
The incident occurred at around noon on Friday August 23 when a 17-year-old girl was assaulted on the number 400 bus service.
On Tuesday (October 1), detectives from East Surrey CID appealed for information on the incident and released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Jo Clarke, said: “I would like to thank the media and members of the public for quickly responding to the appeal.
“The information received enabled us to carry out an arrest today in connection with this incident.”
Today (Wednesday October 2) a man in his 50s from Caterham was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in police custody at this time.
