Man dies after A23 traffic collision

A pedestrian has died after a collision with a car in Horley last night (Sunday March 10).

The man, aged his forties, died at the scene on the A23 Bonehurst Road.

Police said a grey Mercedes Coupe was involved in the collision, which happened shortly before 9.30pm.

Police officers and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police closed Bonehurst Road in both directions between the junctions with Ladbroke Road and Chestnut Road for several hours while investigators examined the scene.
