Man hit in face in unprovoked attack

A man was hit in the face in an unprovoked attack opposite the Co-op on Langley Parade, Crawley.

The victim suffered a cut to the knee and was hit several times to the face, causing a bloody lip, when he was attacked as he sat on a wall on Wednesday (January 2) between 9pm and 9.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: “This was a totally unprovoked attack on a man who was minding his own business.

“He was left with some nasty injuries and we’re keen to trace anyone who saw what happened.”

A 30-year-old man from Reigate, Surrey, has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and has been released on police bail until January 29 pending further enquiries.
