Sean Tyne - jailed for a total of nine years
A man has been jailed for a total of nine years after imprisoning, beating and attempting to rape a woman.
Sean Tyne, 23, who was described by police as a “street drinker” appeared at Hove Crown Court on Wednesday (January 2) where he pleaded guilty to attempted rape, two counts of assault, actual bodily harm and false imprisonment.
The court heard that unemployed Tyne, previously of Boundary Road, Northgate, kept his victim in his flat for nearly 24 hours, during which time she was subjected to a number of serious offences.
The woman managed to escape and raise the alarm when Tyne passed out through a mixture of drink and drugs.
He was jailed for a total of nine years - four for the ABH plus five for each of the sexual offences to run concurrently and 18 months for the false imprisonment, also to run concurrently.
