A military medal and veteran pin badges have been stolen during a burglary in Crawley.

Sussex Police said the items were taken from a house in London Road and officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The break-in happened between 12.15pm and 1.45pm on Thursday June 5.

The intruders stole a number of small items including a bronze medal with Army Foundation College written on it, two small veteran pins with crossed swords on them, a trinket box, a circular gold locket and a ladies watch.

Detective Constable Julie Chambers said: “The house is near to a busy junction so there will have been lots of people going through the area at the time of the burglary.

“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in London Road on 5 June? We need to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything at all.”

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting serial 675 of 5/6, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
