Children and staff from Busy Bees nursery, in Haslett Avenue, Crawley, experienced a taste of the orient when they celebrated the Year of the Snake for Chinese New Year on February 8.

Children made lanterns, snakes, and golden coins. They also made a giant dragon to wear and dance with as the Chinese did during their street celebrations.

Chinese stir fry and noodle soup were provided by nursery chef Ana Heller.

Nursery manager Zara Burford said: “This was a great opportunity for the children to learn all about a different culture and their celebrations, especially one so rich in history.

“The children loved taking part in all the activities, and we will definitely be celebrating next year!”
