Pedestrian seriously injured after collision at Gatwick

A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision with a car at Gatwick airport shortly after 5am this morning (Tuesday April 3).

At 7:40am police and emergency services were still at the scene, near the Welcome roundabout at Airport Way.

Drivers are advised to go via the North Terminal and use the internal transit system to get back to the South Terminal as the road remains closed. Highways have also a diversion in place at junction 9A , police said.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “There is no more information at present on the nature of the man’s injuries or when the road into the South Terminal is due to reopen.”
