Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a 77-year-old pedestrian and two cars in Crawley.

The collision happened on Ifield Drive, at the junction with Parham Road and opposite Ifield shopping parade, shortly after 6pm yesterday (Wednesday February 26).

The man crossed Ifield Drive and collided with a silver Ford Fiesta and black Volkswagen Passat, said Sussex Police.

The pedestrian, a 77-year-old man from Faygate, was taken to St George’s Hospital in London with a serious head injury.

PC Steven Creal said: “We are appealing to anyone travelling along Ifield Drive at the time, especially a small red car which we believed may have witnessed what happened, to get in contact with us. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Henwood.”
