Police appeal over ‘window measurer’

Police are appealing for information after a man claiming to be measuring windows for the council was seen in Northgate.

The man, who drove a white van, was in Shaws Road last Wednesday or Thursday (February 6 or 7) and a police spokesman said his story was not believed to be true.

He was described as white, between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins, of stocky build, aged 35 to 45, and was wearing a black beanie-style hat and a yellow flourescent jacket.

Anyone who has any information about the man is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0321 of 11/2.
