Politicians raise awareness of dementia

Waiting for Video...

A dementia road show visited Tesco Extra in Three Bridges today (Friday November 23) and will be back again tomorrow (Saturday November 24).

The road show, organised by the Alzheimer’s Society offered free information and advice to anyone with questions about the condition.

MP for Crawley, Henry Smith, and Cllr Brenda Smith (Lab, Langley Green), helped shoppers pack their bags while speaking to them about the disease to help raise awareness.

The Alzheimer’s Society, is Tesco’s selected charity, and the store helped to fund the road show vehicle which has been touring the south east.

There are currently 64,000 people living with dementia in the south east - 1,200 of these people are from Crawley, and the number is rising.

If you are worried about a friend or relatives memory or you are living with dementia yourself pop along to Tesco between 10am and 4pm tomorrow.

For more information about the disease visit www.alzheimers.org.uk
