Terminally ill children were given hand-made presents at an event which aimed to ‘raise a smile’.
Youngsters who are supported by the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity were presented with gifts at Crawley Football Club on Thursday (October 24).
The presents were created by volunteers at the asset finance company Lombard, which will soon be moving its head office to Crawley.
Nigel Clibbens, chief operations officer at Lombard, said: “We are delighted to be working with Rainbow Trust to bring a smile to some very deserving children’s faces.”
‘Raise a Smile’ is a toy building workshop that is similar to a real toy production line with teams cutting out components from wood before gluing, painting and assembling,
After a morning making their toys, the Lombard volunteers presented their finished gifts to the children.
Louise Bingham from Rainbow Trust added: “We are really excited to be working with Lombard and can’t thank them enough for organising such a wonderful event in aid of Rainbow Trust.”
