A reward has been offered by The Association of British Bookmakers in connection with an appeal for information about a series of armed robberies.

Two betting shops in Crawley have been robbed in the past month - with six other robberies taking place across the country.

The ABB has offered a reward of up to £10,000 for any information which will lead to the successful arrest and prosecution of the offender.

On Monday February 18, money was stolen from William Hill’s, in The Boulevard; while on Wednesday February 27, a man produced a gun in Ladbrokes, The Broadwalk, and made off with cash.

Detectives from Northamptonshire Police released CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with armed robberies at bookmakers in Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire and Leicestershire as well as West Sussex.

In each case, the offender was described as black, between 5ft 5ins and 6ft tall, possibly in his late 30s early 40s, wearing a black hooded top in seven of the eight offences and a grey hooded top in one of the offences.
