Robbers escape with betting shop money

Staff at a betting shop were left “extremely shaken” after two men fled with several hundred pounds following a robbery.

The robbers entered the William Hill shop, in Three Bridges Road, at around 7.50pm on Tuesday last week(January 22) and held up a note demanding money to the cash window. No weapon was seen but members of staff handed over the cash before the robbers fled.

DC Kai Murray, from Crawley CID, said: “Fortunately no-one was injured in the shop and no weapons were seen but staff were extremely shaken by the ordeal.

“There are very limited descriptions of the offenders, but one is believed to have been wearing a dark jacket with a scarf across his face and carrying a drawstring
bag. The other wore a light jacket.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, who has any information about what happened, or who recognises the descriptions
of the offenders to get in touch.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial 1572 of 22/01.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
