A WOMAN who raised more than £2,000 for charity by competing in the London Marathon has received an added boost from a supermarket.
Domine Simmons of Southgate wrote to Sainsbury’s in Queensway with details of charity Get Kids Going, which helps disabled children in sport and the supermarket pledged £200.
The store presented a cheque for the sum to Domine on July 12 which she will pass on to the charity.
A spokeswoman for the store said: “Domine is a customer at Sainsbury’s and when she saw that Sainsbury’s are sponsoring the paralympic games she wrote to us with the details of the charity.
“She raised £2,500 from friends, and family sponsoring her for the marathon which was amazing.
“She had her heart set on raising £2,012 so she was overjoyed at her achievement.”
