Members of TS Cossack sea cadets showcased their skills when they were put through their bi-annual inspection by the Royal Navy last Tuesday (March 5).

The Youngsters were so impressive that inspecting officer Commander John Greene Bed (Hons), BSc awarded the group a Burgee Efficiency Award for 2013, which places them in the top 15 per cent of Sea Cadet Units across the United Kingdom. The evening, which began with a formal parade, was the first official engagement of the new unit President Major Paul Furber QGM, REME. The cadets put on a 20-minute display showcasing the skills they had learned during the past 12 months. TS Cossack is accepting new recruits aged 10-18. Email the commanding officer at co487@btinternet.com, go along to the HQ in Longmere Road, West Green, or call 01293 529 585.
