The rivalry between Crawley and Horsham has covered many a topic over the years.
From ‘who has the nicest parks’ to ‘who has the lowest unemployment rate’ and ‘who can attract the largest employers’.
In some battles, Horsham has been victorious, in others Crawley was top dog.
But, according to the tongue-in-cheek website www.sexymp.co.uk, Crawley – and MP Henry Smith – have won another crucial victory.
Our MP is ‘sexier’ than theirs – apparently.
Henry reached the giddy heights of seventh in the list of male MPs across the UK.
The ranking changes daily as visitors are constantly asked to vote for which politician they find sexiest.
Speaking of his accolade, Mr Smith said: “I’m grateful to those who have voted for me but I think it maybe a case that they ‘should have gone to SpecSavers’!”
Horsham MP Francis Maude, stood at number 71 on Monday.
Top of the charts was Own Patterson (Con, North Shropshire) and David Cameron was trailing behind at number 99.
A spokesman for Mr Maude said he “would not be commenting on this occasion”.
