Spirits high at Copthorne Carnival

The Crawley Lions Club raised £123 at Copthorne Carnival. Six volunteers for the charity sold bric-a-brac and put on a tombola at the event in Copthorne Village Green on Saturday (June 28).

Vice-president Gary Davies said less money was raised than in previous years because of bad weather. He added: “The fellowship and fun is something to be seen to be believed. Although the weather was damp the spirits of the people attending were not dampened.” The charity raised more than £200 at the event last year.
