SURVEY SHOWS JUST ONE PASSENGER PER FASTWAY BUS

A SHOCKING survey of passenger numbers on Fastway has revealed an average of ONE person is using the multi-million-pound bus at peak times.

The damning statistics come from a comprehensive two-day survey carried out by the Horley Resident's Association (HRA) in May, following reports the bus service was being seriously underused.

The staggering mid-week head count found an average of just five people used the controversial bus at 'peak times' between 7am and 9am. The average number of people per bus was just one.

Andrew Kent, chairman of HRA, said: "The reason why we did this survey is because there has been a great deal of anecdotal evidence suggesting Fastway is underused, but Surrey County Council kept saying it's a marvellous success."
