West Green Primary School Comic Relief Heroes Day

West Green Primary School Comic Relief Heroes Day

Superheroes paraded the halls of West Green Primary School for one day only when the school held a special event to raise funds for Comic Relief.

Children dressed up as their favourite characters and real life heroes, such as police and fire officers, to honour the life saving work done by the county’s services.

The event on Friday (March 8) also saw visits from paramedics, police, police dogs, a nurse, a footballer and lollipop helpers who shared stories about their work with pupils.

Pennie Bumsted, from the school, said: “The children and staff dressed up as either real life heroes or superheroes. As well as special assemblies held throughout the day with our visitors, the children were involved in lots of creative activities.

“These included print making superhero logos, collages, making rosettes, designing superhero costumes, making super hero puppets, being shown how to draw and design a super hero.”

The school will be selling red noses to raise extra funds.

The pupils and staff will he wearing them for the official Red Nose Day on Friday March 15.

Schools, colleges and work places will be holding events for Comic Relief this week.

The day raises money for disadvantaged people living in Africa and at home.
