The owner of the bike, Liam McGovern, discovered the damage and realised that his vehicle was missing on Thursday April 21.

The 19-year-old had visited his garage in Landsbury Road to take photographs of the motocross bike as he was planning to sell it.

He said: “I went there in the morning, unlocked my garage and realised my bike wasn’t there and somebody had broken in through the wall.

“They must have gone through my next door neighbour’s garage to get to mine.”

The nature of the break-in led Liam to believe that the thieves are not ‘off the street’.

He said: “They took three panels out of the wall and dragged my bike through the wall.

“It has to be somebody who knows what they are doing, not just somebody off the street.”

Liam bought the yellow 2013 Suzuki RM 85, with blue and pink splatters, about a year ago, spending £1,800.

Speaking a week after he realised it was missing, he said he was ‘still in shock’.

He added: “It’s worth a bit of money and that’s lost. I am still in shock.”
