Town to honour Remembrance Day

Crawley will pay its respects to those who gave their lives for their country with Remembrance Day services across the town this weekend.

On Sunday (November 11), a parade of servicemen and dignitaries will leave the Territorial Army Centre in Kilnmead Road at 10.15am, and march along the High Street.

Members of the Royal British Legion have been in County Mall all week selling poppies. On Sunday at 11am they will join shoppers in a two-minute silence at 11am.

In Ifield, the 2nd Ifield (St Margaret’s) scout group will lay a wreath at the war memorial in St Margaret’s churchyard.

The church will hold two services – one at 10.20am and one at 11am. The first service will be aimed at young people and families while the second will begin at the war memorial and move into the church.
