TRAVEL ALERT: Crash closes A29 at Slindon

The A29 at Slindon has been closed this morning (January 18) by a crash involving a van and an oil tanker at the junction of Shellbridge Lane.

Traffic is queueing in both directions and the situation is being made worse by increasingly heavy snow falling.

However, it’s not clear if the weather was a factor.

Motorists using the A29 faced more delays further south at Eastergate, where another crash, involving a lorry and a car, blocked the road in both directions, between the B2233 Nyton Road and A27 Arundel Road/Fontwell Services roundabout.

The road has now reopened at Eastergate but heavy snow is making driving conditions difficult.
