Two arrested following burglary

TWO men were arrested on Monday evening (September 17) following a brief police chase after a burglary in Horley.

At around 9.20pm, two 21-year-olds - one from Crawley and one from Horley - were spotted in a car in the Charlwood area and were pursued by officers to Buckswood Drive, Gossops Green.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “The men then decamped from the car and started to run but were captured and arrested by police.”

A Crawley man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a car. A Horley man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft of a car and failing to stop. Both men are currently in the custody of Surrey Police.

The police helicopter was used during the pursuit.
