UPDATE: A23 reopens after fuel spillage

The A23 has reopened after a fuel spillage caused by a lorry.

The A23 was closed southbound at Handcross Hill during rush hour this morning (Friday October 19) while the road was made safe.

Sussex Police said a number of collisions had been reported after the articulated lorry made its way across West Sussex unknowingly leaking diesal. Police stopped the driver in Littlehampton.
