UPDATE: Fire in Broadfield Barton flats

Six fire crews were sent to tackle a blaze in Broadfield this morning (Monday October 29).

A fire department spokesperson said the fire broke out in a ground floor shop and the flat above in Broadfield Barton at 4.15am.

Specialist HART (hazardous area response team) paramedics joined the fire service at the scene.

A SECAmb spokesperson said everyone was able to get out of the property with people treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters left the scene at 6.19am.
