UPDATE: Jogger ‘extremely shaken’ after knife attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a jogger was attacked with a knife in Crawley today (Thursday June 19).

Police were called to Coxcombe Walk, Gossops Green, Crawley, at 2.35pm after a report that a jogger had been attacked.

A 29-year old local man received a cut to his chest from a man brandishing a knife.

He did not require hospital treatment.

Detective sergeant Glenn Willcocks said: “Thankfully the cut he received was just superficial but it has obviously left him extremely shaken.”

The knifeman was described as white, aged mid to late 20s, stocky build, wearing blue jeans and black hooded top with the hood up.

He is believed to have run in the direction of Mowbray Drive.
