UPDATE: Police warning after fuel leak causes traffic chaos
Police are advising drivers on A-roads across Sussex to be extra cautious after a fuel spillage caused by a lorry caused rush hour chaos on several roads including the southbound A23.
Sussex Police said a number of collisions had been reported after the articulated lorry made its way across the area unknowingly leaking diesal. Police stopped the driver in Littlehampton.
The A23 southbound at Handcross Hill has been closed while the road is made safe.
Traffic is queuing as far back as Pease Pottage.
Incidents have also been reported on the A272, A24 and A280.
