Update: Seven drug arrests after officer spots cars parked suspiciously in Crawley

Seven men were were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs after a patrolling police officer became suspicious of vehicle activity in Crawley.

A spokesman said two cars had parked up ‘extremely close’ together in a small farm road off Charlwood Road a minute after midnight today (Wednesday April 27).

The police unit blocked the two vehicles and when the officer approached he noticed a strong smell of cannabis.

Four men, aged 19, 20, 20, and 29, all from Crawley, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs. A 21-year-old man from Bookham, Leatherhead was arrested on suspicion of the same offences.

A 25-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and driving a motor vehicle with proportion of specified controlled drug above the specified limit.

A 44-year-old man from Charlwood, Horley, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and driving a motor vehicle while unfit through drugs.

All remained in custody on Wednesday afternoon.
