Update: Woman taken to hospital after car overturns on A23 Crawley

A woman was taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after a car overturned on the A23.

Emergency services were called to the scene in the westbound lane outside Ifield Community College at 4.12pm yesterday (Monday August 25).

A burgundy Ford Fiesta left the road, crashed into a tree and overturned.

A 65-year-old Crawley woman driving the car was taken to the East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, with serious injuries and detained for treatment.

Firefighters made the scene safe and the incident was left with Sussex Police.
