Vehicle crime has increased, say police
CRAWLEY Police say there has been an increase in vehicle crime and have vowed to deal with the issue ‘robustly.’
Inspector Zahid Khan, from the Crawley Neigbourhood Policing Team, said there had been a ‘noticeable’ increase in vehicle interference and theft from cars and vans.
He said the force would strive to catch those responsible and wanted to reassure people that officers were committed to tackling the crime.
Inspector Khan said: “Crime will not be tolerated in Crawley; we will strive to ensure all crime is dealt with robustly. My message to the people who are committing crime in Crawley is that Sussex Police will not tolerate crime in our neighbourhoods and we will use all measures to identify, arrest and prosecute all offenders to make your communities safer.
“There has been a noticeable increase in vehicle crime in our area, in particular vehicle interference and theft from motor vehicles. However, I would like to reassure the public that we at Sussex Police are committed to safeguarding your communities and neighbourhoods.”
