A state-of-the-art clubhouse at Tilgate Forest Golf Centre is set to open in March 2013 thanks to a £1million restoration following a devastating fire.

Building began at the Titmus Drive site in April 2012 after a suspected arson attack in May 2011.

The new facilities include a cafe, a shop and a function room.

Manager Colin Chilvers said he was excited by the opportunities the new facilities would bring.

He said: “There’s a real buzz about the place because people can see what they are going to get.

“We will be able to provide sit-down meals for up to 80 people meaning we can cater for weddings and big events.”

The official opening weekend will take place on May 10 and 11 2013.
