A self-employed roofer and his partner have won more than £3million in Saturday’s Lotto draw.
A somewhat dazed Stuart Hunt, 33, and Nicky Martin, 29, of Bewbush, met the country’s press at Langshott Manor Hotel this morning (Wednesday September 11) to share their good news.
The win couldn’t have come at a better time for the couple after Stuart tore a ligament in his right knee and was unable to work for 10 weeks.
The accident happened when the father-of-three was playing football with his 11-year-old daughter and found himself on the receiving end of a particularly solid tackle.
The winning ticket – for £3,676,642 – was bought at Martins newsagent, in Bewbush, and the numbers were 1, 11, 12, 13, 35 and 42.
When Nicky checked the ticket in Morrison’s, in Broadfield, the cashier told her she needed to call the National Lottery.
Nicky said: “I pretty much just dropped everything and ran out of the shop and ran straight home!”
