VIDEO: Tilgate blaze spreads to neighbouring homes

Firefighters were called to a house fire in Ashdown Drive, Tilgate this afternoon (Tuesday February 5).

Six crews attended the blaze, which broke out in a first-floor bedroom at around 3.50pm.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire & Rescue said the fire had spread to neighbouring rooves of the terraced house.

There were heavy delays to traffic in the area as Southgate Avenue was closed in both directions, as was part of Ashdown Drive.

No one has been reported injured.
