VIDEO: MP Moffatt jumps out of plane
CRAWLEY MP Laura Moffatt took her fund-raising efforts to new heights when she leapt out of a plane.
She skydived from 11,000ft to raise cash for 4sight West Sussex Association for the Blind.
She said: "You get strapped to someone and then you have to sit in their lap in the plane.
"Then he sits on the edge and so I was dangling out of the plane, it was just that moment, I thought 'what are you doing Laura', but I just kept thinking about the charity, there's such a trust between you and the other person."
Describing the fall she added: "I didn't know if I was up or down because you tumble for a bit, then I could see the earth coming towards me, and when the parachute opens that bit's lovely, you slow down and have a look around."
She added: "As I saw my husband in his red jacket on the ground, just a little red dot but getting bigger I thought 'I'm going to live now'.
"But it was just amazing, it was great and I really enjoyed it."
She would not rule out doing it again. She said: "I think I would, yes, it's a good way to raise money for sure, and it raises lots of debate, some people say 'I'd never be able to do that' and it starts a conversation off."
