The sickening 55-second clip, posted on YouTube this week, shows the young fighters bare-knuckle brawling in Dorsten Square, Bewbush.

A large crowd of youths are pictured filming the horror punch-up on their mobile phones as the boys rain blows down on each other.

Young girls, some thought to be in their early teens, are also filmed aiming punches and slaps at the two bloodied lads – identified as 'Mustapha' and 'Brooker'.

The brutal tussle, entitled 'Typical nite in Bewbush', only ends when one of the teens lays battered and apparently unconscious on the floor, while other laughing kids rush to take more images.

Sergeant Roger Fox, of Crawley Police, said: "We have been made aware of the images that have appeared on You Tube, which may or may not be linked to Crawley.

"Sussex Police take very seriously any situation where young people are subjected to, and involved in violence and we appeal to anyone who can assist us with the identification of the people involved to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or Police on 0845 60 70 999."
