What to expect from Moka:

A new nightclub is just days away from opening in Crawley town centre - and manager Adam Foxely has promised an ‘unforgettable clubbing experience’.

Moka, on Station Way, will officially open its doors on Friday October 26 at the former Liquid/Envy building, with a VIP night offering revellers the chance to experience the nightclub first.

Liquid/Envy was shut down last year after parent company Luminar went into administration.

The club was plagued with problems resulting in Sussex Police request a licensing review which resulted in the club’s opening and closing hours being reduced to try and solve crime and disorder in the area.

Luminar, which is now under new ownership, has invested heavily in the new nightclub, and Adam said no expense was being spared to make it a more ‘cultured and sophisticated’ clubbing experience.

He said: “The only similarity to Liquid/Envy is that it is in the same building. That is where any similarity ends. It is wrong to even put the two names in the same sentence because everything is so different.

“We are having an over 20s night on Saturday’s and an over 18s on Tuesday’s and Friday’s. There will also be a night for airport staff but the public are also welcome to that. It is a very different scene, we are really trying to tap into the 20s market for people who feel they have no where to go in Crawley. Our customers will have a safe and fun clubbing experience.”

Adam said the club was already working with Sussex Police to make sure the Liquid/Envy problems did not reoccur.

He said: “I have been voted in as chair of Pubwatch. We have also been working together over the licensing. It is focused on different clientèle and if we know someone has caused trouble, we won’t let them in.”

Adam said he was looking forward to bringing a new clubbing experience to the town in the wake of night hot spot Bar Med closing down over the summer.

He said: “I have lived in Crawley all of my life and it is really good to have something exciting like this coming into town.

“We want to bring night life back to Crawley, and bring it back into fruitition.

“It is important to get the right people in from the word go and hope the same people will come back.”
