Woman, 57, hurt during handbag robbery in Tilgate

A 57-year-old woman was left extremely shaken after her handbag was robbed in Tilgate.

She was walking alone from the shops when she was attacked in Winterfold, between 5pm-5.20pm on Thursday (February 21).

The robber pull her bag from her and during the struggle she fell to the ground and suffered grazing.

Police described the robber as white, aged about 17, skinny and about 5ft 5in tall.

A police spokesperson said: “The victim was extremely shaken by the robbery and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or has information about the incident. If you can help police, please call 101 quoting serial 1106 of 21/02.”
