Yellow warnings for wind and rain in run-up to Christmas across West Sussex

Stormy weather.

Stormy weather.

While Christmas Day is looking cloudy but settled, the days before will be very wet and windy across the county.

The Met Office has issued yellow warnings for both wind and rain for Monday (December 23) and Christmas Eve.

Gusts of up to 65mph are forecast for Monday afternoon and overnight into Tuesday morning.

Combined with the heavy rain, driving conditions are likely to be difficult.

Tomorrow (Sunday December 23) is set to be much calmer after today’s wind and rain.

However, the next front will move in from around 8am Monday and the poor weather will likely continue until Tuesday evening, although the wind may drop around lunchtime.

At the moment, Christmas Day is set to be cloudy with an occasional shower, but far less windy.
