A man has pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm following an attack at a football match in Horley.

A man in his 40s suffered facial injuries after being hit in the face on January 13 2013 at the football ground on Thornton Close after an under 17s match between Horley and Epsom and Ewell.

A Surrey Police spokesman said Adam Jason Holgate, 44, of Leatherhead Road, Bookham, pleaded guilty to GBH at Guildford Crown Court on (Wednesday) December 17.

He is due to be sentenced at the same court on January 23.
