Milton Mount Playgroup: Background

Milton Mount Playgroup, based at the community centre in Milton Mount Avenue, Pound Hill, is a registered charity run by a parents’ committee.

The committee members, elected at an AGM held in September, are an essential part of the operation, responsible for reviewing policies, employing staff, managing finances - including fundraising - and long-term decision making.

It provides care and education for up to 36 children at a time, aged between two and a half, and five years old.

A parents’ rota provides a chance for parents to drop in and see the day-to-day operations of the school.

The playgroup held a May Fair on Saturday May 9, raising more than £500 for resurfacing work on their outdoor play area.

Playgroup closes after three-year-old girl escapes.
