Crawley Museum Society is on the look-out for new members.
For 38 years members have worked to conserve and display Crawley’s history at both Ifield Watermill and the Museum Centre in Goffs Park, and now they are looking for some new blood to swell the numbers.
The Past, Present and Future of the society will be discussed at the 38th AGM, at the Horticultural Society’s Hall on Ifield Avenue at 7.30pm tomorrow (Tuesday September 29).
This will be followed by an illustrated talk by Museum Curator Helen Poole reviewing the Society’s work over the past year and the progress on the project to create the new Museum of Crawley at The Tree, on the corner of London Road and The Boulevard.
Helen’s talk will be followed by an update from Nick and Angela Sexton on the work at Ifield Millpond and the interesting projects that have taken place at the Mill and with Membership this year.
A museum spokesman said: “The prospect of moving into ‘The Tree’ in the High Street in partnership with CBC is an exciting new challenge for us.
“To find out more about the project, take advantage of free entry into the AGM meeting.”
Members receive a newsletter three times each year and enjoy talks on the last Tuesday of each month from September to May when a history walk is organised.
