Have your say

We are so excited as tomorrow our Big Heart Auction goes live and you will be able to bid on your favourite artworks.

Over 200 amazing artists have all donated artworks so we have a wide range of pieces including fine art, photography, illustration and textiles, as well as art by celebrities and some of the children cared for by Chestnut Tree House.

There’s something for every taste and style.

The artworks will be available for purchase through an online eBay auction from Thursday 26 February until 7pm on Sunday 8 March.

The starting price for all artwork is just 99p, and all proceeds will go towards supporting both Chestnut Tree House – which cares for over 300 children with life-shortening conditions in Sussex and South East Hampshire - and Brighton Dome, a registered arts charity committed to providing a ground-breaking programme of performance, art and debate that touches and enriches thousands of lives.

Among the artwork is an original painting by Raymond Briggs – illustrator of the much-loved The Snowman and Patron of Chestnut Tree House. The piece, entitled Snowman with a BIG Heart, was painted using acrylics, something Raymond told us he enjoyed using greatly.

Other celebrities who have created artworks for us include David Walliams, Chris Riddell, Tamzin Outhwaite and Julie Graham.

Alongside the online gallery, Brighton Dome will play host to a public Big Heart exhibition from Wednesday 4 to Friday 6 March. The exhibition is free to enter and will be an opportunity to see first-hand artworks from a wide range of artists.
