A charity which supports more than 140 adults with learning difficulties has been nominated for this year’s Lloyd’s Bank Community Fund award.

The nomination for Ifield-based Outreach3Way was made by MP Henry Smith.

Describing the group as “a great local charity”, Henry said: “The staff and volunteers that assist Outreach do so much to help individuals with learning disabilities and autism, but what matters most to those they support is that they are seen as people first and believe they have the same rights to respect and opportunities as everyone else.

“I’ve been touched by the dedicated, passionate service that Outreach3Way offers my local constituents.

“I’ve come to rely on their input when it comes to offering support to constituents who are in need of assistance but above all the opportunity to contribute towards and feel a part of their local community.”

The Lloyd’s Bank Community Fund gives awards of £3,000, £2,000, £1,000 and £500 in each of up to 360 communities. A shortlist will be drawn up and voted on by the public in September and October to decide which causes receive each award.
