Parents targeted with web app to get the right health care

The NHS is encouraging families to make sure they know how to use the free web app.

Right Care Right Now is a time and location specific web app which can advise on the best health service to access depending on a person’s symptoms.

The app has information and advice for people of every age, from babies and teenagers to adults and the elderly. It lists common symptoms and offers suggestions for self-treatment for minor illnesses and minor burns.

Dr Amit Bhargava, lead GP for Crawley CCG, said: “Schools in the Crawley area were contacted by us prior to the summer holidays, asking that Right Care Right Now information could be passed on to parents.

“The mobile web app is a very useful tool to use for people in Crawley who need health advice when it’s not a life-threatening emergency.

“The app can tell you the best place to go based on your symptoms and what is open. The Urgent Treatment Centre in Crawley Hospital has X-Ray facilities with specialist staff trained in urgent care. Don’t forget NHS 111 is also available 24/7 to help you get the right care.”

Since its launch in December 2013, the Right Care Right Now app has continued to grow in popularity. It is available to everyone in Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex, and can be accessed on computers, tablets and smartphones.
