Councillors have rejected a bid for a natural burial ground in Turners Hill.

Mid Sussex District Council’s planning committee refused the application for the change of use of a land parcel north of Turners Hill Road at a meeting on August 13.

A spokesman said: “They were concerned about the translocation of the hedgerow.

“Specifically they were concerned that the hedge may not survive and that this would result in an adverse impact on the character and appearance of the area.”
