Firefighters were called to a Crawley play area twice in the space of two hours after arsonists set rubbish bins alight.

The first call to the play area in Creasys Drive, Broadfield, came at 4.50pm on Saturday (May 17).

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire & Rescue said two large rubbish bins were “well alight” when the crew arrived.

The second call came at around 6.30pm where a bin in the play area had been set on fire.
