Police are appealing for witnesses after a schoolgirl managed to fight off two men who attempted to robber her in Gossops Green.

The 16-year-old girl was walking to school through the alleyway connecting Lavant Close and Gossops Drive at about 7.20am on Wednesday (May 14).

Police said once the girl reached the end of the alleyway she was pushed to the floor and two men demanded her phone.

The other suspect is described as skinny and was wearing a short sleeved black t-shirt.

Detective Sergeant Karrie Bohanna said: “The victim was shaken up and suffered minor grazing to her head. If anyone has any information about this or witnessed the incident please contact police.”
